OSHA Fines Ada Football Plant For Safety Violations

The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration has fined Wilson Sporting Goods more than 65 thousand dollars for workplace safety violations at its football factory in Ada, Ohio. The alleged safety violations are related to failing to cut the power on machines before workers performed maintenance. The agency says one worker lost part of a finger in one accident. Regulators say they visited the plant in February and June. The company has yet to comment. The factory makes footballs used in the Super Bowl and by many colleges and high schools.
