Wife Of Open Shelter Founder Passes Away

Funeral services are scheduled Saturday afternoon for one of the operators of The Open Shelter for homeless men in Columbus. 

65-year-old Mary Beittle died over the weekend of cancer. She helped run the facility for more than three decades with her husband and shelter founder Kent Beittle. 

Jim has been with WCBE since 1996. Before that he worked as a reporter at another Columbus radio station, and for three newspapers in Southwest Florida.
